[Upper] Falls of the Garravalt [sic]
c. 1859Albumen print | 7.4 x 6.8 cm (image) | RCIN 2117170
Photograph of the Upper Falls of the Garbh-Allt river situated in the Ballochbuie Forest. A small waterfall flows over rocks. The image is framed by tree branches on the top and sides.
Wilson photographed the Grabh-Allt falls on multiple occasions. Some of his studies featured the waterfall itself, as glimpsed through trees, like this photograph and others included the single arched wooden bridge that spanned the river which often included a figure standing in the centre of the bridge.
