The portrait features, from left to right, Augusta, Princess of Saxe-Weimar (1827-1904), William, Duke of Manchester (1823-90), Colonel J. MacDonald (fl. 1860), (standing), Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar (1823-1902) and Louise, Duchess of Manchester (1832-1911).
