Photograph of a full length portrait of Pierluigi Bembo (1823-82) seated in a chair, facing halfway towards the right. He turns his head and looks towards the camera. He tucks his right hand into his waistcoat pocket and leans his right arm on the chair's arm rest. He poses with his legs crossed at the ankles.
Bembo was Mayor of Venice from 1860 to 1866, at a time when Venice was a territory of the Austrian Empire.
