Hand-coloured photograph of a full length portrait of Prince Arthur, later Duke of Connaught (1850-1942) standing, facing three-quarters to the right. He turns his head to face the camera and poses with his right arm across the back of a chair. He wears the costume of the sons of King Henry IV (in the play of Richard II), which he wore at the Bal Costume.
