Photograph of General Sir Arthur Augustus Thurlow Cunynghame seated in an armchair facing partly left. He is wearing military uniform and is holding a sword. There is a hat and a pair of gloves on the table beside him. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.

General Cunynghame served during the Crimean War and fought in many of the major battles including the Battle of Inkerman and the Siege of Sevastopol.
