Photograph of a group gathered around a table by the doorway of a wooden hut. Two women stand behind the table, one holding a dog. To the left there is a man wearing military uniform who is holding the reins of the horse beside him in his right hand. Two men stand to the right, one wearing the robes of a clergyman. Some women travelled with the British and French troops during the Crimean War, usually nurses or the wives of soldiers.
