A reversed engraving by Giovanni Battista de Cavalieri after the fresco of 'The Disembarkation from the Ark' painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the vault of the third bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican. Lettered with attribution to Raphael on a tablet at lower centre below which are the creator's details. Lettered with text and dedication in Italian below image. On watermarked paper (unidentifiable).

The engraving is similar in composition to the engraving of the same subject by Giulio Bonasone (RCIN 853399). Vasari identified Pier Gentile Pamphili as the author of the eight-line stanza below the image (see Bibliographic References).
