Includes the Princess Royal referring to Princess Beatrice's funny remarks, as well as the new housemaid and the new housekeeper, Georgina. She writes that she does not know whether Countess Perponcher will stay till April and refers to the news of Sir James [Clark] being an 'invalid'. She also mentions Colonel Bruce and Bertie [Prince of Wales] and that she is reading 'Jane Eyre'. She writes that the unsatisfactory account of Affie [Prince Alfred] must be causing her father anxiety and also mentions Frederick William IV of Prussia's health.
