Lord Stanley discusses Sir Charles Metcalfe's vigorous handling of the constitutional crisis in Canada. He refers to a letter regarding Sir Charles' acceptance of the resignation of almost all of his Execution Council. Lord Stanley also mentions the subject of Sir Charles' resignation.
