Letter from Prince Albert to Lord John Russell

8 May 1850

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/C/17/65

Prince Albert writes that he thinks Lord John Russell should write the same letter to him as to the Duke [of Wellington]. He states that his position is an embarrassing one but he will do his best and that he hopes Lord John Russell will maintain 'paternal solicitude towards the universities'. He also mentions that the Queen will approve of the recommendation of Mr Garnier.
