Prince Albert writes that Lord John Russell's letter to the Duke is very good if the commission goes ahead but that he doubts it will overcome the opposition at the universities. He also refers to Mr Stanley, Mr Liddel and Mr Eyres. Finally he mentions the language of the Protectionist at their meeting.
